Dr Steyne gave a workshop on Intercultural Communicative Competence in ELT at the Tuzla English Teachers' Association's 4th International Conference in Bosnia in June 2017.

Dr Steyne took part in the week-long IATEFL Glasgow. The International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language’s annual conference is the largest English Language Teaching conference in Europe. Dr Steyne was also a speaker in the annual Pecha Kucha event in April 2017.
